Larry plays piano. He also plays a Hammond B3. Or lead synth. Or Wurlitzer e-piano. Or a techno loop or whatever else the mighty Korg Triton Studio 88 can serve up. He also has a Yamaha Motif rack unit midi'ed off the Triton. At home he can control both with a Ubuntu Studio Linux workstation for real time recording. Funny story. The other day he was trying to network Ubuntu Studio to his Mac and wouldn't you know it but appletalk isn't in the distribution so he found a forum article from someone who was able to hack the appletalk code so it would load but you have to download and compile it raw so anyway long story short the compile actually went pretty well and so now...here's the thing... the two are actually talking. Sweet. So where was I? Oh yeah. Larry says it's really all about the music. In truth he wishes he could play like Pinetop Perkins or Chuck Leavell or Ray Manzarek. If he can get his head out of the computer he just might be able to some day.... And don't get me started about Kansas City.
