Let's start with the name. It is pronounced Sin Zee Buck Wood. So now you know what to call us. The literal translation is "drawn from the wood" and is the word for maple sap that is made into syrup. Now you're wondering, why in the world would you call a band that? I'm glad you asked. At one point, the Sinzibukwud Band was just Tom Chamberlain (TC) and Aaron Hunt. They played acoustic shows (acoustic guitar, drums, harmonica) and since they used wooden instruments (ignore for a moment the steel strings, metal stands, snares, cymbals, microphones, etc), TC decided to give the band a name that meant drawn from the wood. Aaron had no counter argument and the name was theirs. Plus, the url was available, so that was a factor as well.
Aaron then discovered Larry Kovnat and Jon Renault wandering around in the same building Aaron worked in. They found out he was a drummer and drafted him for a work type of band. After a few practices, Aaron decided he should steal them away and convinced them they should play with he and TC and Sinzibukwud doubled in size.
Together, they play a mix of fun-ky rockin' dance-able groove standards and originals or maybe not. They play a musical cornucopia of well over 100 cover songs and originals. Have a perspiration laden dream about bands like Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones, the Doors, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Tom Petty, the Black Crowes, Van Morrison, Gomez, and the Beatles and you'll know what they're talking about. You never know what they might play but they sure aim to please a large crowd with antics, group singing and socializing. -Amen
